سرورکائنات صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مندرجہ ذیل صحابہ کو کاتب وحی مقرر فرمایا تھا: حضرت بوبکررضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ ، عمرفاروقرضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ، عثمانرضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ، علیرضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ، معاویہرضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ ، زید بن ثابت رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ،ابی بن کعبرضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ، خالد بن ولیدرضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ،ثابت بن قیسرضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ،۔ قرآن کا جو حصہ نازل ہوتا آپ صحابہ کو مامور فرماتے کہ اسے تحریر کرلیں یہاں تک کہ کتابت کے پہلو بہ پہلو قرآن کریم کو سینوں میں بھی محفوظ کرلیا گیا۔(مشہور مستشرق بلاشیر نے کاتبین وحی صحابہ کی تعداد چالیس بتائ ہے دیگر مستشرقین مثلاً شفالی بہل اور کازانوفاکا زاویہ نگاہ بھی یہی ہے مؤخر الذکر نے اس ضمن میں طبقا ابن سعد، طبری ، نووی اور سیرت حلبی پر اعتماد کیا ہے ۔) محدث حاکم نےمستدرک میں زید بن ثابت سے بخاری ومسلم کی شرط کے مطابق روایت کیا ہے کہ زید بن ثابت نے کہا ہم عہد رسالت میں ''رقاع''(ٹکڑوں)سے قرآن جمع کیا کرتے تھے ۔ (الاتقان،ج۱ص،۹۹نیز البرہان ،ج۱ص۲۳۷) مذکورہ صدر حدیث میں ''رقاع ''کا جو لفظ وا...
